AppQuack is designed to collect as little personal information as reasonably possible.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

1. Information we collect

You can browse and discover ideas on AppQuack without creating a traditional account.

Depending on how you use the service, we may collect:

• your email address when you make a purchase or request access to a previous purchase;
• your X/Twitter handle if you choose to provide it;
• order and transaction information relating to purchases you make;
• saved idea identifiers and preferences stored in your browser;
• technical information needed to operate and secure the service, such as basic request, device or browser information;
• communications you send to us, including support requests.

We do not intentionally collect more personal information than is necessary to operate AppQuack.

2. How we use your information

We use personal information to:

• process and confirm purchases;
• deliver Build Packs and other digital purchases;
• allow you to retrieve previous purchases;
• remember saved ideas and preferences;
• provide customer support;
• prevent fraud, abuse and security incidents;
• maintain and improve the reliability of AppQuack;
• comply with legal, accounting and regulatory obligations.

We do not sell your personal information.

3. Our lawful bases

Where UK data-protection law applies, we generally process your information because:

• it is necessary to provide a service or fulfil a purchase you have requested;
• we have a legitimate interest in operating, securing and improving AppQuack;
• we need to comply with a legal obligation; or
• you have given consent, where consent is required.

The lawful basis may vary depending on the particular use of your information.

4. Payments

Payments are processed by Stripe.

AppQuack does not receive or store your full card number or card-security code. Payment details are handled by Stripe in accordance with Stripe's own privacy and security practices.

We may receive information from Stripe confirming your payment, such as your email address, order amount, transaction status and payment reference.

5. Email delivery

We use Resend to send transactional emails, such as:

• order confirmations;
• purchase-access links;
• Build Pack delivery emails;
• support or service-related messages.

We do not use your purchase email for unrelated marketing unless you have separately agreed to receive marketing communications.

6. Data storage and hosting

AppQuack uses Supabase for database, authentication and file-storage services.

Information required to operate AppQuack may therefore be processed or stored using Supabase infrastructure.

We only provide service providers with the information they need to perform services on our behalf.

7. Browser storage, cookies and similar technologies

AppQuack may use browser storage, including local storage, to remember information such as:

• ideas you have saved;
• your browsing preferences;
• sign-in or purchase-retrieval state;
• settings needed for the service to function.

Clearing your browser data may remove locally stored saves and preferences.

UK privacy rules apply not only to traditional cookies but also to technologies that store or access information on a user's device, including local storage. Where a storage technology requires consent, AppQuack will request that consent before using it. Technologies that are strictly necessary to provide a service you have requested may be used without consent where permitted by law.

If AppQuack later introduces analytics, advertising or other non-essential tracking technologies, this policy and our consent controls will be updated accordingly.

8. Affiliate links and external websites

AppQuack may contain links to third-party AI builders, learning platforms, hosting providers and other services.

Some of these may be affiliate or referral links.

If you click a third-party link, that provider may collect information under its own privacy policy. AppQuack does not control how third-party websites process your data.

9. How long we keep information

We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected.

For example:

• purchase records may be retained for accounting, fraud-prevention and legal purposes;
• email addresses associated with purchases may be retained so you can retrieve your order;
• customer-support communications may be retained while needed to resolve an issue;
• browser-based saved ideas remain on your device until you clear them or the application removes them.

Retention periods may vary where we are required to keep information for legal or regulatory reasons.

10. International processing

Some of the service providers we use may process information outside the United Kingdom.

Where required, appropriate safeguards are used for international transfers of personal data.

11. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information handled by AppQuack.

However, no online service can guarantee absolute security, and you should take reasonable steps to protect access to your own email account and devices.

12. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights relating to your personal information, including the right to:

• request access to information we hold about you;
• ask us to correct inaccurate information;
• request deletion of your information;
• object to or restrict certain processing;

13. Deleting your information

You can request deletion of personal information associated with you by contacting us.

We may need to retain limited information where required for legal, accounting, fraud-prevention or dispute-resolution purposes.

Deleting information stored locally in your browser can generally be done by clearing your browser's site data.

14. Children

AppQuack is intended for people interested in building apps, websites and digital products and is not specifically designed for children.

We do not knowingly seek to collect personal information from children.

15. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as AppQuack develops or our use of service providers changes.

The latest version will always be published on AppQuack with the date it was last updated.
